Using the site

Anychord is free to use, with no account and no payment. Use it and you accept what is written here. If you do not, do not use it — there is nothing to cancel and no record of you to delete.

What you get, and what it is worth

The chords on this site are produced by a machine listening to a recording. They are an estimate. They are frequently right and sometimes wrong, and nothing here is presented as an authoritative transcription. Do not rely on an analysis for anything that matters — a performance, a recording session, a lesson you are teaching — without checking it by ear.

The service is provided as it is, with no warranty of any kind: no promise that it is accurate, that it is available, or that it is fit for your purpose. To the extent the law allows, we are not liable for loss arising from using it or from being unable to.

Fair use of the service

Analysis costs real server time, so there are rate limits, and they are there to keep the queue moving for everyone. Do not try to get around them, do not script the site for bulk analysis, and do not scrape the catalogue. Do not upload audio you have no right to upload. Persistent abuse gets an address blocked; that is the only sanction there is.

Rights in the content

The site's own code, design, layout and written text are ours. The chord analyses are generated from recordings and are published as factual descriptions of harmony — you may use them freely for playing, teaching and learning, which is the point of the site.

Anychord hosts no music, no lyrics and no sheet music. Recordings play through YouTube's embedded player, from youtube-nocookie.com, and remain the property of whoever owns them; using that player is also subject to YouTube's terms of service. An audio file you upload is read for its chords and deleted as soon as the analysis finishes.

If you hold rights in a recording and want its page removed, write to maidr52@gmail.com with the address of the page. It comes down.

Ads

The site carries advertising from Google AdSense, and that is what pays for it. We do not choose the individual ads and are not responsible for what an advertiser says or sells. What data is involved is set out on the privacy page.

Changes

These terms can change; the date above changes with them. A change is not applied backwards, and continuing to use the site after one means accepting it.
